On the occasion of National Export Day

Export development requires infrastructure

During the past years, the government, in a commendable action, has dedicated one day of the year to the name of Export Day, not only to promote the export culture among the people and to appreciate the pillars of the country’s economic front, but also to create an opportunity in order to provide a basis for exchanging ideas, understanding bottlenecks and solutions to achieve the goals of production boom and jump and as a result economic growth and prosperity.

Holding the event of the National Export Day and honoring the actors in the field of export is a valuable reward and has generalized credibility in the relations between economic actors.

Last year, about 123 million tons of goods worth 49 billion dollars were exported. Of the 49 billion dollars worth of exported goods, 14.5 billion dollars are related to mineral products, 11.5 billion dollars are related to base metals, 7.2 billion dollars are related to chemical products, and 6.4 billion dollars are related to rubber and plastics. have been. Also, 4.8 billion dollars was the natural gas export of the country including methanol, polyethylene, propane and urea.

The country’s exports have enjoyed positive and negative growth from about 44 billion dollars in 2010 to about 41 billion dollars in 2019 and finally 49 billion dollars in 1400. Statistics show that the highest value of the country’s foreign trade was recorded in the beginning of the 90s and the lowest value of the country’s foreign trade was in 2019. Although this year was faced with the outbreak of the Corona virus, what emerges from the statistics is the restriction of exports to some countries such as China, Iraq, and the UAE, and the areas of economic activity such as agriculture, textiles, and technical and engineering services have played a minor role. The important point is that, despite the addition of fields such as natural gas and gas condensate exports to non-oil goods, the figure of 50 billion dollars in non-oil exports has not yet been achieved. All this shows the infrastructure that has not been built over the years.
